JFK: Who Wanted Him Dead?
[ send me this paper ]
10 pages in length. Attempting to determine just which group or individual wanted John F. Kennedy out of office has been one of the most compelling, yet ever-elusive, aspects of the president's assassination. A worthwhile topic for one's research paper, evaluating the various conspiracy theories will help to bring together all the massive speculation that has lived on throughout the years, sometimes with very little proof to substantiate the claims. Clearly, there was more at work with regard to JFK's assassination than that of a lone lunatic; as the student puts to use the various articles in this series, there will at once be a significant sense of understanding as to the diverse possibilities incorporated in the many conspiracy theories. This paper consists solely of an annotated bibliography of eight sources.

John F. Kennedy Assassination / Forensics
[ send me this paper ]
An 8 page paper discussing facts of the assassination in relation to related findings of the Warren Commission that determined in 1964 that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone and fired one shot, the 'magic bullet,' that killed President Kennedy and severely wounded Governor John Connally. Many of the documents used by the Warren Commission were finally made public by the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992, and few of them support the conclusions of the Warren Commission based on forensic analysis. Bibliography lists 7 sources.

Lee Harvey Oswald As A Sole Assassin
[ send me this paper ]
A 13 page paper that presents both sides of the case and dismisses the conspiracy theory for the following reasons: none of the conspiracy arguments match, they are disjointed and if true everyone in the CIA would have known about the 'secret' plot to assassinate JFK; in contrast, the sole assassin theory is supported by evidence gathered by such diverse agents as CIA agents, lawyers, private investigators and Norman Mailer. In this theory, all the evidence matches, with each adding a little more insight into Oswald. Bibliography lists more than 10 sources.
Filename: Lhoswald.wps
Evidence Against the Conspiracy Theory
[ send me this paper ]
An 11 page paper arguing in favor of accepting the Warren Commission's conclusions that Lee Harvey Oswald did indeed act alone in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. By today's standards of technology and communications, such an event would only be possible under the extensive cover of a conspiracy. Such was not the case in 1963, however, and Lee Harvey Oswald saw and seized likely the only opportunity of his life of which he took advantage. The paper cites the report of the Warren Commission and the critical analysis of a former proponent of the conspiracy theory in detailing the implausibility of involvement by anyone other than Oswald. Bibliography lists 7sources. KS-JFK.doc

The J.F.K. Assassination / Fact vs. Film Fantasy
[ send me this paper ]
8 pages in length. An excellent resource for those studying forensics or criminal investigations. This paper analyzes the reliability of facts presented in Oliver Stone's movie JFK with respect to actual Warren Commission and House Select Committee reports. It is argued that the most logical assassin was indeed Lee Harvey Oswald and that Stone's movie is good for little more than imaginative historical fantasy. Bibliography lists 3 sources.

Lee Harvey Oswald -- A Victim As Seen In Don DeLillo's/ 'Libra'
[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. Was Lee Harvey Oswald, assassin of President John F. Kennedy, a cold-blooded, calculating killer because he chose to be or because his mother raised him in a disturbed, manic environment? Clearly, Oswald was not one of the most stable person merely because he had the capacity to take the life of another human being. But is he truly guilty for his actions, or is his mother -- a disturbed person in her own right -- the one to blame for his ultimate indiscretions? The writer attempts to show that Oswald was, in fact, a victim of his abnormal upbringing, as well as a victim of a cold and heartless society. No additional sources cited.

In “The McMartin Trial” the members of the McMartin family are absolved of guilt. Two of the more notorious cases of child molestation were committed by the now notorious killers Albert Fish and Jeffrey Dahmer. These killers had a similar tendency for cannibalism of their victims’ bodies as well. While a precise after-the-fact psychological analysis cannot be made of either, this paper delves into the cannibalistic aspect of these crimes in particular and emphasizes the utilization of standardized psychological methodology such as the multi-axial approach of the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM IV) in attempting such a diagnosis. Forensic Legal Issues in the United Kingdom
[ send me this paper ]
New scientific discoveries pose a problem for the legal system, and the legal system in the United Kingdom has so far failed to adequately confront the issues. One example is the Shipman, case in which the serial killer Dr. Harold Shipman killed over 200 people, but was only tried for the deaths of 15 because the evidence did not exist at the local level. Not only did the evidence not exist for the court trial, but the deaths of hundreds of people did not signify a problem to local coroners nor to local police forces that there was a serial killer in their midst. This was signified by the fact that only 58 total death certificates were ever filled out for the total number of Shipman’s victims.
