JFK: Who Wanted Him Dead?
[ send me this paper ]
10 pages in length. Attempting to determine just which group or individual wanted John F. Kennedy out of office has been one of the most compelling, yet ever-elusive, aspects of the president's assassination. A worthwhile topic for one's research paper, evaluating the various conspiracy theories will help to bring together all the massive speculation that has lived on throughout the years, sometimes with very little proof to substantiate the claims. Clearly, there was more at work with regard to JFK's assassination than that of a lone lunatic; as the student puts to use the various articles in this series, there will at once be a significant sense of understanding as to the diverse possibilities incorporated in the many conspiracy theories. This paper consists solely of an annotated bibliography of eight sources.
Filename: TLC_JFK.rtf

John F. Kennedy Assassination / Forensics
[ send me this paper ]
An 8 page paper discussing facts of the assassination in relation to related findings of the Warren Commission that determined in 1964 that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone and fired one shot, the 'magic bullet,' that killed President Kennedy and severely wounded Governor John Connally. Many of the documents used by the Warren Commission were finally made public by the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992, and few of them support the conclusions of the Warren Commission based on forensic analysis. Bibliography lists 7 sources.
Filename: Jfkfor.wps

Lee Harvey Oswald As A Sole Assassin
[ send me this paper ]
A 13 page paper that presents both sides of the case and dismisses the conspiracy theory for the following reasons: none of the conspiracy arguments match, they are disjointed and if true everyone in the CIA would have known about the 'secret' plot to assassinate JFK; in contrast, the sole assassin theory is supported by evidence gathered by such diverse agents as CIA agents, lawyers, private investigators and Norman Mailer. In this theory, all the evidence matches, with each adding a little more insight into Oswald. Bibliography lists more than 10 sources.
Filename: Lhoswald.wps

Evidence Against the Conspiracy Theory
[ send me this paper ]
An 11 page paper arguing in favor of accepting the Warren Commission's conclusions that Lee Harvey Oswald did indeed act alone in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. By today's standards of technology and communications, such an event would only be possible under the extensive cover of a conspiracy. Such was not the case in 1963, however, and Lee Harvey Oswald saw and seized likely the only opportunity of his life of which he took advantage. The paper cites the report of the Warren Commission and the critical analysis of a former proponent of the conspiracy theory in detailing the implausibility of involvement by anyone other than Oswald. Bibliography lists 7sources. KS-JFK.doc
Filename: KS-JFK.doc

The J.F.K. Assassination / Fact vs. Film Fantasy
[ send me this paper ]
8 pages in length. An excellent resource for those studying forensics or criminal investigations. This paper analyzes the reliability of facts presented in Oliver Stone's movie JFK with respect to actual Warren Commission and House Select Committee reports. It is argued that the most logical assassin was indeed Lee Harvey Oswald and that Stone's movie is good for little more than imaginative historical fantasy. Bibliography lists 3 sources.
Filename: Jfk.wps

Lee Harvey Oswald -- A Victim As Seen In Don DeLillo's/ 'Libra'
[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. Was Lee Harvey Oswald, assassin of President John F. Kennedy, a cold-blooded, calculating killer because he chose to be or because his mother raised him in a disturbed, manic environment? Clearly, Oswald was not one of the most stable person merely because he had the capacity to take the life of another human being. But is he truly guilty for his actions, or is his mother -- a disturbed person in her own right -- the one to blame for his ultimate indiscretions? The writer attempts to show that Oswald was, in fact, a victim of his abnormal upbringing, as well as a victim of a cold and heartless society. No additional sources cited.
Filename: Libra.wps

Anastasia / The Riddle of Anna Anderson
[ send me this paper ]
A 9 page paper on the woman who claimed she was the Grand Duchess Anastasia, and thus the only survivor of the Russian Imperial Family to survive the Russian Revolution. The writer compares different stories about Anastasia and attempts to reconcile fact from fiction in an effort to determine whether or not Anna Anderson was truly the Grand Duchess. Forensic / D.N.A.-related evidence is presented and the writer ultimately describes how science unraveled the mystery years later and discovered that Anderson was not who she claimed to be. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
Filename: Anna.wps

The paper stresses the importance of field documentation of evidence. Bibliography list five sources.
Filename: Evidence.wps

Firearms, Society and Forensic Considerations
[ send me this paper ]
The controversy over firearms in the United States is not centered on just one element. There are aspects of constitutionality, legality and social responsibility aligned within the debate. Injuries due to firearm use may or may not be associated with crime, nor is possession necessarily; however, the incidence of homicides with guns as the murder weapon as well as the use of firearms in crimes such as robbery is directly related to the forensic field of study. This 8 page paper examines the relationship between forensics, firearms and the community. Bibliography lists 12 sources.
Filename: KTfrarms.wps

[ send me this paper ]
An 8 page discussion of the rights and wrongs of implementing mandatory testing programs in our nation’s prisons. The argument is presented that such programs can be of tremendous benefit in that they offer solutions thousands of crimes, crimes about which a convicted criminal is likely to remain silent on and in all likelihood would escape detection without such programs. An Approach to the Psychological Diagnosis of Albert Fish and Jeffrey Dahmer, Notorious Child Molesters
[ send me this paper ]
A 24 page paper analyzing the psychology of child molestation. In the more disturbing cases children are not only abused, they are abducted, sexually and otherwise physically abused, and even killed. Two of the more notorious cases of child molestation were committed by the now notorious killers Albert Fish and Jeffrey Dahmer. These killers had a similar tendency for cannibalism of their victims’ bodies as well. While a precise after-the-fact psychological analysis cannot be made of either, this paper delves into the cannibalistic aspect of these crimes in particular and emphasizes the utilization of standardized psychological methodology such as the multi-axial approach of the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM IV) in attempting such a diagnosis. Forensic Legal Issues in the United Kingdom
[ send me this paper ]
New scientific discoveries pose a problem for the legal system, and the legal system in the United Kingdom has so far failed to adequately confront the issues. One example is the Shipman, case in which the serial killer Dr. Harold Shipman killed over 200 people, but was only tried for the deaths of 15 because the evidence did not exist at the local level. Not only did the evidence not exist for the court trial, but the deaths of hundreds of people did not signify a problem to local coroners nor to local police forces that there was a serial killer in their midst. This was signified by the fact that only 58 total death certificates were ever filled out for the total number of Shipman’s victims. Also reviewed in this 6 page paper is the Mary and Jodie conjoiend twins legal case. Bibliography lists 4 sources. jvUKfors.rtf

Forensic Psychology
[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. The field of psychology is comprised of many subcategories in order to address various and distinct aspects in a more appropriate way. Forensic psychology is somewhat different from other sectors of the field by virtue of its intrinsic connection to the criminal justice system, an alliance that provides for better understanding of "the vast psychological perspectives" (Diviny et al, 2000) inherent to the law. More than that, however, is the fact that forensic psychology deals in myriad aspects of the legal component, not the least of which include helping to set policy and create laws, determining offender competency, establishing a defendant's mental condition at the time when the crime was committed, criminal profiling, attorney consultation for jury selection, treating mentally unstable offenders, acting as expert witness in court and "analyzing a criminal's mind and intent" (Diviny et al, 2000). Bibliography lists 5 sources.
Filename: TLCForenPsy.rtf

Forensic Psychology: Issues of Morality and Justice
[ send me this paper ]
A 5 page overview of the role forensic psychologists play in issues of morality and justice. Notes that in effect forensic psychology is a court of law, a system designed to weigh the mental processes of some against those of the masses. Psychology is really a means of justification, the presentation of evidence or facts which support our views or beliefs. This "evidence" or "fact" varies considerably, however, according to what arena it is presented. A rigid testing and diagnostic regime is therefore critical to justice. The issues of morality and justice are integrally tied to the “court of law” of forensic psychology. It is by gauging one’s morality and concept of justice, in fact, that allows us in many instances to distinguish normal from aberrant. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
Filename: PPforPsy.wps

Forensic Science: Overview
[ send me this paper ]
14 pages in length. The entire reason forensic science exists is to help law enforcement recreate a crime scene in order to collect and process evidence with the intent of catching the perpetrator. All of this must work in tandem with little deviance from strict methodology in order to render the ultimate objective: putting the criminal behind bars. Bibliography lists 13 sources.
